CEBU CITY, Philippines — Filipino-French cyclist Adam Desvaux returned to Samboan, Cebu, after more than a year on the road, completing a 28,000-kilometer solo journey across 26 countries that brought him home in time for his 20th birthday.

Desvaux reunited with his family, relatives and friends in Samboan after beginning his expedition in France at 18 and spending roughly 42 weeks cycling across Europe, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.

His homecoming marked the end of an extraordinary ride that took him through countries including Switzerland, Croatia, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Vietnam before he finally reached the Philippines.

His arrival in Samboan also coincided with his 20th birthday, adding significance to the homecoming.
