The prime minister of Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, said on Monday that Iranian drones targeted his office and the home of the head of the Kurdistan region’s Security and Intelligence Agency.

“Following an investigation by the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Unit, my personal office and the home of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency were targeted by Iranian drone attacks earlier today,” he said in a post on X, adding that the attacks were “reckless and unacceptable”.

He called the strikes a “dangerous escalation” and said they posed a direct threat to the security and stability of Iraq's Kurdish region.

The semiautonomous region has faced missile and drone attacks since the US-Israel war on Iran began in February.
