Trump tells CNN reporter to ‘be quiet’ in tense Oval Office clash

President Donald Trump repeatedly told a CNN reporter to be quiet and insulted her in his latest attack on a female member of the White House press pool.

Trump was hosting heroic teenage life guard Ryder Williams and the child he saved in the Oval Office on Monday (August 17) when he opened up the event to questions from the press, he singled CNN’s Alayna Treene.

“Quiet. Quiet. Quiet. You're very disrespectful in front of this young man,“ Trump said, pointing to the young boy who had been rescued by Williams in California. “You're a loud, boisterous person. You're fake news,” Trump continued.

When another journalist asked about the wide-spread reports of conditions deteriorating on the USS Abraham Lincoln after it was unable to dock for nine months, the president dismissed the complaints; “ It was fake news reporting from CNN.”
