According to Ukrinform, Kovalenko made this statement on Telegram.

“The latest hype about ‘lockdowns’ in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa is something new. For starters, I advise the commentator to learn what a lockdown actually is, especially when talking about ones that are ‘even stricter than this winter’s.’ We didn’t have any lockdowns last winter. The most recent ones were during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s the first point,” he noted.

According to Kovalenko, the widespread claims about possible restrictions are not substantiated, as they were made by someone who is not involved in preparations for winter.

“Less panic. We’ve been through many winters, but for the enemy, this one could be truly special if they don’t stop their attacks,” emphasized the head of the CCD.

Earlier reports covered Ukraine’s preparations for the new heating season and potential energy supply issues due to Russian attacks. At the same time, no official decisions have been made regarding the imposition of lockdowns in Kyiv, Kharkiv, or Odesa.
