Infosys, the country’s second largest tech firm, on Thursday posted a net profit of ₹7,769 crore during the June ended quarter, a 12.2% growth a net profit of ₹6,921 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
The Bengaluru-based company’s revenue from operations rose 14% to ₹48,211 crore in the quarter as compared to ₹42,279 crore in the same quarter in the previous year.
In Q1, the company reported large order bookings worth $3.6 billion, compared with $3.2 billion sequentially and $3.8 billion a year ago. Of these, the net new deals accounted for 61% indicating positive deal momentum. The company also said AI-driven services contributed 8.2% of its total revenue.
The company trimmed its guidance for FY27 revenue growth in the 1.5% to 3% range, from 3.5%, in constant currency; however, margin guidance retained at 20%-22%.
Salil Parekh, CEO and MD in his commentary said, “AI momentum is now rapidly converting into revenue, which demonstrates how Infosys’ differentiated enterprise AI value proposition is translating into consistent market share gains.’’
Strong large deal wins, powered by Infosys Topaz, reinforce client confidence in the company’s ability to be the strategic partner of choice for AI transformation driving tangible business value, he said.

According to Shubham Rathore, Principal Analyst, Gartner, Infosys is converting its AI momentum into revenue, with AI services now accounting for 8.2% of its total revenue.
“Despite navigating a challenging macroeconomic environment and cautious client spending, Infosys’s strategic investments in its Topaz platform position it strongly for digital transformation,’’ he commented adding that looking ahead, Infosys must continue to balance operational excellence with proactive innovation to maintain its competitive edge in the rapidly evolving IT services sector.
Infosys, CFO, Jayesh Sanghrajka said, “We are accelerating investments in AI, talent, and platforms to drive future growth and remain committed to improving productivity, expanding operating leverage and maintaining the financial flexibility needed to capitalise on emerging opportunities while delivering sustainable shareholder value.’’
Infosys said it would roll out annual salaries hikes phases: in October and in January next year. As on June 30th, the company had a total people strength of 328,062 people a net increase of 4,274 people year on year (3,23,788), however, it reported a net decline of 532 people in the sequential quarter with an overall workforce of 3,28,594.
Names Ashiss Kumar Dash CEO-designate
Infosys on Thursday named Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO-designate, effective April 2027. Following the completion of Mr. Parekh’s second term on March 31, 2027, Mr. Dash who is currently EVP & Global Head - Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy & Enterprise Sustainability, will succeed him as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.
Informing the Board decision to the media, Infosys Chairman, Nandan Nilekani said, ``Our industry is entering a period of considerable change. It gives me great pleasure that we have an internal leader as our next CEO.’’
On behalf of the Board, he also thanked Salil for his leadership over nine years and said under his stewardship, the company has strengthened its market position, expanded its capabilities, delivered significant value to shareholders, and built a strong platform for future growth. He has been instrumental in the turnaround of the company, establishing its leadership in the digital era, and for laying the foundation for a strong and differentiated Al strategy, Mr. Nilekani added.
According an Infosys communique, having spent over three decades with Infosys, Mr. Dash has held senior leadership roles spanning customer-facing businesses, delivery, and global operations across multiple geographies. He also leads the sustainability business across the company. He has consistently delivered strong business performance, helped clients navigate complex business and technology transformations, and built high-performing global teams.
Mr. Parekh said he enjoyed leading Infosys from $10 billion in revenue to over $20 billion in revenue through during his tenure.
“Technology is entering a new era, with AI fundamentally reshaping how businesses operate and create value,’’ said Mr. Dash adding, he was committed to build more strengths for Infosys while it accelerated innovation, expanded capabilities to succeed in an increasingly AI-driven world.
