Former lawmaker who represented Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu will be out of office after the 2027 general elections.

In a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday, Melaye also said that what happened in Venezuela will happen in Nigeria.

This came after a United States firm hinted at looking into the alleged drug trafficking case linking President Tinubu.

DAILY POST reports that US District Judge Beryl Howell on Tuesday issued Donald Trump-appointed attorney Jeanine Pirro four additional days to release the drug-trafficking records of Tinubu.

Recall that the United States, in early January 2026, captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife over drug and weapons charges.

Reacting, the former lawmaker said, “Home is calling. Work plenty for home. Tinubu must go. Venezuela go happen for Naija.”
