MUMBAI: At least 10 people were injured after a crane deployed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) at a nearby work site fell onto the overhead equipment (OHE) of the single-line Kurla-Trombay section early Friday, Central Railway said.

The incident occurred around 2.40am near Qureshi Nagar in Kurla.

According to Central Railway, the crane fell onto the railway OHE from the nearby MMRDA work site.

No deaths were reported in the incident.

Central Railway said train movement was not affected as the section is primarily used for goods traffic.

The railway authorities said the responsibility for the incident rests with the MMRDA.
