Putting together a 1440p gaming setup can get expensive once you start considering higher refresh rates, but one of Samsung’s more affordable Odyssey displays has just dropped back to an especially tempting price at Amazon.

As of Aug. 21, you can buy the Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 (G51F) gaming monitor for a new low price of $149.99 at Amazon. With $72 cut off the $221.99 typical price, you’re getting a 32% discount — and it's the lowest price we’ve seen for this model yet, confirmed with price tracker camelcamelcamel.

Amazon is both selling and shipping the display directly, with free delivery currently estimated for Aug. 26. Prime members can get it considerably quicker, with delivery showing for Aug. 22 at the time of this writing. Free 30-day returns or replacements are included as well.

That $150 price gets you a 27-inch VA panel running at 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution. With that, you’re getting 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for a much sharper display all-around.

When mixed in with the Odyssey G5’s 180Hz refresh rate, alongside a 1 millisecond moving picture response time (MPRT), you’ll be equipped for any fast-paced shooter like * Fortnite*, racing titles like

Rocket League, or a single-player adventure along the lines of

— pairing fluid movement with lovely visuals all in one.

__Crimson Desert__AMD FreeSync is also on hand to cut down on tearing, lag, and stuttering with compatible hardware, while HDR10 brings brighter highlights and more detail into darker scenes — making any game, TV show, or movie you watch pop even more.

Samsung has rounded things out on this particular monitor with Black Equalizer for improving visibility in shadows, Virtual Aim Point for adding an on-screen crosshair, and Auto Source Switch+ for jumping between connected devices automatically.

The height-adjustable stand can also tilt and pivot, giving you considerably more flexibility than many budget monitors around this price.

For any gamers willing to spend a bit more, the QHD-OLED Acer Predator (X27U F5) monitor is on sale at $300 off.  Meanwhile, the 32-inch version of the Samsung Odyssey G5 gaming monitor is also on sale for only $50 more
