According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv Regional Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reported this on Facebook.
The SES said Russian forces spent nearly a day destroying logistics infrastructure in the Kyiv region. Rescuers worked simultaneously at multiple sites where the Russian attack caused large-scale fires.
Large warehouse areas, extensive structural debris and difficult access to the sources of the fires have made it impossible to extinguish them within a few hours, the SES noted.
Rescuers have been working at the sites for a second consecutive day.
The SES said that, despite the hot weather, difficult conditions and heavy air, emergency workers are extinguishing individual fire hotspots, dousing structures and dismantling debris.
Each of these steps is necessary to reach hidden pockets of smoldering fire and prevent the warehouses from catching fire again, the SES explained.
