“In Kryvyi Rih, emergency and rescue operations are ongoing at the site of yesterday’s Russian strike on a shopping mall. The fire, which spread across 9,000 square meters, has been extinguished. SESU specialists are clearing the rubble and continuing to search for people. Rescuers from seven regions and canine search teams are involved in the operation,” Zelensky wrote.

He expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed in the attack.

The President also noted that missile and drone strikes continued throughout the evening and night. In particular, ballistic missile strikes damaged railway infrastructure in Kyiv, killing one person and injuring another.

“In Zaporizhzhia, there was an absolutely inhumane FPV drone strike on a city minibus, injuring three people,” the head of state stressed.

The Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, Chernihiv and Mykolaiv regions also came under attack. Residential buildings, energy and railway infrastructure, and civilian enterprises were damaged.

“Every day that Ukraine lacks sufficient air defense means casualties that could have been prevented. Protecting lives requires daily decisions and effective support from the world, and right now, new supplies of ballistic missile interceptors and other missiles can help. Thank you to everyone who is helping our people and supporting Ukraine with concrete steps,” Zelensky added.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Hanzha, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that 61 people injured in the enemy attacks on Kryvyi Rih remain hospitalized, including 14 children.

“Sixty-one people wounded in the Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih the previous day remain in hospitals. Fourteen of the patients are children,” Hanzha said.

According to medical officials, 23 of the injured are in serious condition, including five children. Two boys, aged 10 and 16, and an 11-year-old girl are in extremely serious condition. The condition of all patients is currently stable.

As reported, the death toll from a Russian strike on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih has risen to 16, while 130 people were injured. The city has declared August 23 a day of mourning for those killed in the attack.
