Apple TV has a big summer ahead with the return of Ted Lasso, Dark Matter, and more, but the streamer’s current lineup is compelling too, and will get even more so later this week.
Your Friends \& Neighbors and For All Mankind will be joined this week by Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Several Apple TV series all wrapped up their latest seasons last week, including the excellent Shrinking.
But the streamer still has a strong lineup of currently airing shows, and it’s about to get even better.
Out of current Apple TV series, two stand out as especially acclaimed by critics:
Your Friends \& Neighbors made a quick season 2 return following its debut outing last spring. And it overall seems to be getting even better reviews than season 1, with an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score. I’ve only seen the first couple episodes so far, but I’ve definitely been enjoying the new season a lot.
For All Mankind is still early into season 5, but our own Zac Hall has seen the whole season and loved it. Critics seem to agree, with the show’s return garnering a strong 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now, starting this week, a third acclaimed title is debuting on Apple TV.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles premieres this Wednesday, April 15 with its first three episodes.
The new series is a comedic drama from producer David E. Kelley that’s based on the bestselling novel by Rufi Thorpe. It stars Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, Thaddea Graham, Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, and more.
Here’s Apple’s plot summary:
“Margo’s Got Money Troubles” is a bold, heartwarming and comedic family drama following recent college dropout and aspiring writer, Margo (Elle Fanning), the daughter of an ex-Hooters waitress (Michelle Pfeiffer) and ex-pro wrestler (Nick Offerman), as she’s forced to make her way with a new baby, a mounting pile of bills and a dwindling amount of ways to pay them.
The show premiered at SXSW last month, where it earned rave reviews—it holds a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.
All three top-tier series will have new episodes airing through at least May 20, with some lasting even longer.
