Mitch Brown criticises Matthew Nicks for failing to condemn booing of Isaac Quaynor

Former AFL player Mitch Brown has said the leaders he admired were those who admitted they were "part of a problem", amid the repeated booing of Collingwood's Isaac Quaynor.

Adelaide's Izak Rankine was banned for four weeks last year for aiming a homophobic slur at Quaynor during a round 23 game.

The AFL, the Crows and the AFLPA have condemned the behaviour of fans booing Quaynor at Adelaide Oval on Thursday but Brown said he was "really disappointed" with coach Matthew Nicks's failure to openly condemn the booing.
