The Zaporizhzhia Regional Police reported the attack on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"The invaders struck the city with three guided aerial bombs. One of the bombs hit an industrial enterprise. At present, nine people are known to have been injured, including three children. All of them are receiving emergency medical care," said Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Head Ivan Fedorov.

Rescuers pulled a woman from the rubble, but despite their efforts, she could not be revived.

The enterprise hit in the attack is engaged in the purification and distribution of drinking water.

Fedorov later said the number of injured had risen to 11.

"Eleven people required medical assistance following the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia. Victims suffering from blast injuries were taken to medical facilities across the region. Doctors are now determining the course of treatment for each patient," he wrote.

He added that the injured included three children aged 3, 5, and 7.

The regional Prosecutor's Office said it had launched a pre-trial investigation into a war crime resulting in the death of a civilian under Part 2, Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code.

Police paramedics, investigative teams, forensic experts, explosive ordnance specialists, rescuers, and other emergency services are working at the strike sites.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian military also attacked a cemetery in one of Zaporizhzhia's districts.
