Political leaders from Andhra Pradesh paid glowing tributes on Sunday to the soldiers who had laid down their life during the 1999 Kargil War. They hailed the courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of the soldiers in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
In a post on X, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the nation salutes the brave soldiers whose extraordinary courage had secured India's victory in the Kargil conflict. Despite formidable terrain and relentless adversity, the armed forces stood firm to protect the country's sovereignty. Their supreme sacrifice and unmatched heroism, he said, continue to inspire generations and remain a timeless symbol of patriotism and national pride.
In his post on X, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan described Kargil as not merely a military victory but the triumph of courage, sacrifice and the indomitable spirit of Bharat. The heroes of Kargil reclaimed every inch of the nation’s territory under extremely hostile conditions, upholding the honour of the Tricolour through their unmatched bravery.
He observed that while nations celebrate victories, Bharat remembers those who made victory possible, adding that the greatest tribute the present generation could pay was to place the nation above self and work towards a stronger, united and developed India.
HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, in a post on X, said the sacrifices of soldiers guarding the nation’s borders at the cost of their lives were beyond measure. Paying homage to the Kargil martyrs, he said the country would remain indebted to the brave soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives for the nation's security.
YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid homage to the martyrs, stating that their unwavering resolve, unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice protected India's sovereignty. The extraordinary valour of the soldiers would forever inspire generations of Indians and expressed deep gratitude to those who laid down their lives in service of the motherland.
In his message on X, Andhra Pradesh BJP president P.V.N. Madhav paid tributes to the fallen soldiers, offering his respects to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the motherland and to the Kargil warriors who upheld the honour of Bharat and the dignity of the national flag through their courage and sacrifice.
