DJI unveils dual-lens Osmo Pocket 4P

DJI Philippines recently launched the Osmo Pocket 4P to the Philippine market. The launch event was graced by content creators and film makers, showing a wide diaspora of use cases with such a versatile gimbal camera.

The Osmo Pocket 4P is a two-step upgrade from the previous Osmo Pocket 3. It’s been three years since the Pocket 3 was released, and this form factor has been proven to be truly unique as the only gimbal camera in the market. The 4P brings three significant upgrades to DJI’s gimbal camera line up. First is the presence of 103GB of internal storage. As a Pocket 3 user, this is a boon as there have been times when I forgot to retrieve my microSD card after transferring files. This goes without saying that the internal storage is expandable to up to 1TB with a high-speed microSD card.

The second upgrade is the addition of a f/1.8 60mm telephoto lens apart from the 20mm wide f/2.0 lens. The telephoto lens addresses a commentary to expand the filming capabilities to shoot more creative B rolls, becoming more than just a vlogging camera.

The third upgrade is the ability to shoot in D-Log2 / 10-bit D-Log. This means better dynamic range in shooting video compared to the previous models.

Held at Uma Nota in Shangri-La BGC, the launch event opened with panel discussions with creators including tech content creator Mary Bautista and Gian Viterbo of Gadget Pilipinas talking about how the new Osmo 4P incorporates into their content creation workflows. Industry film makers Sherard Yu, Ryan Audencial, and Randz Manucom also shared how the new telephoto capabilities help open new filming possibilities.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is now available for P37,790 with the vlog combo available at P42,290.
