He made the remarks in an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Ukrinform reports.

"We are calling for an intergovernmental agreement with Kyiv in which the Ukrainian side commits to sharing its technological capabilities with us so that we can become stronger together," Hoffmann said.

According to him, Germany is Ukraine's largest supporter in terms of financial, military, and humanitarian assistance and will continue providing that support "under all circumstances."

"And I want to make this unequivocally clear – under all circumstances. Because it is having an effect, as we are now seeing," the politician said.

Hoffmann noted that, with this support, Ukraine has developed significant technological capabilities.

"But it must also be acknowledged that Ukraine has developed truly outstanding capabilities with this support – in the areas of drones, drone defense, and cruise missiles," he said.

According to Hoffmann, Germany should be involved in these defense innovations to strengthen its own defense capabilities and deterrence potential.

"We say: Germany must participate in these arms innovations to strengthen its own defense and deterrence capabilities," said the head of the CSU regional group.

Together with lawmakers from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), CSU representatives form the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, which is part of Germany's ruling coalition.

Hoffmann stressed that Germany must be able to rapidly scale up drone production when necessary.

"If necessary, we must be able to ramp up drone production very quickly," he said.

To achieve this, Germany wants to draw on the technological expertise that Ukraine has already developed.

"We also want to utilize the know-how that already exists in Ukraine and which Ukraine is naturally keeping to a certain extent because it is militarily advantageous," Hoffmann said.

He added that Germany should therefore "obligate Ukraine to share this expertise with us, so that we can become stronger together."

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany, Oleksii Makeiev, said that Ukraine and Germany are actively working on a framework Drone Deal agreement that is expected to pave the way for technology exchange and the joint production of unmanned systems.
