Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made the remarks in an interview with Sky News, Ukrinform reports.

"Putin is afraid of his society, internal challenges and internal questions to him," Zelensky said.

He explained that Ukraine's long-range strikes are causing Russia to lose both revenue and energy resources.

"They began to import energy instead of export. So they lost a lot of money on it," Zelensky stressed.

According to the President, this is placing significant pressure on Putin.

"He has a lot of questions, internal questions from people. 'Where is petrol? What do we do? How to live without logistics and without diesel?'" Zelensky said, describing the situation inside Russia.

The President also noted that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Putin is preparing to announce a new mobilization campaign after Russia's elections on September 21. The Kremlin is reportedly planning to mobilize between 300,000 and 500,000 people.

In Zelensky's view, despite signs of internal dissatisfaction among a considerable number of Russians, statistics available to him indicate that Putin is still capable of carrying out a large-scale mobilization because the majority of the Russian population continues to support him.

"The biggest problem is that he will not be able to train them [mobilized troops] quickly. It means again he will push to the battlefield people who are not well trained and mostly they will not be trained. It means a lot of losses," the President said.

Speaking about the challenges facing Ukraine's defense, Zelensky added that the Kremlin expects reinforcements from North Korea in the form of 30,000 troops, as well as ballistic missiles from Iran.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian leader Vladimir Putin is preparing conditions for an expanded mobilization campaign, while Russia also plans to deploy an additional 30,000 North Korean troops.
