People’s Democratic Party (PDP) general secretary V.M. Aliyar on Monday lodged a complaint with the State Police Chief and the Home Minister, seeking the registration of a case against Hindutva ideologue T.G. Mohandas over the allegedly slanderous comments he made against those who took part in the recent student protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

In his complaint, Mr. Aliyar accused Mr. Mohandas of instigating violence and rioting through his comments that he “would have shot” the protesters at Jantar Mantar if he were in control. The complaint said that the former head of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State intellectual cell also defamed the protesters by saying that the secular women who take part in protests “enjoy being gangraped”.

Earlier, leaders from different political platforms had filed similar complaints against the comments made by Mr. Mohandas through his YouTube channel on Sunday.
