MOSCOW, July 28. /TASS/. The Russian stock market declined at the opening of the main trading session on Tuesday, according to Moscow Exchange (MOEX) data, while the Chinese yuan edged higher.

At the 10:00 a.m. Moscow time opening, the benchmark MOEX Index and the dollar-denominated RTS Index both shed 0.29%, dropping to 2,210.6 and 892.61 points, respectively. Meanwhile, the yuan-to-ruble exchange rate ticked up 4.1 kopecks from the previous close to hit 11.591 rubles.

By 10:30 a.m. Moscow time, losses accelerated as the MOEX Index fell 0.8% to 2,199.2 points, and the RTS Index dropped 0.8% to 888 points. At the same time, the yuan rose by 4.3 kopecks, trading at 11.593 rubles.

Earlier, at the 7:00 a.m. Moscow time start of the morning session, the MOEX Index with an additional ticker (IMOEX2) dipped 0.39% to 2,208.21 points.
