Jakub Dlubacz, spokesman for the Wroclaw District Prosecutor's Office, told this to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Today, the two detainees will be questioned at the Wroclaw-Psie Pole District Prosecutor's Office, where they will be formally charged and the prosecutor will decide on further action in the case. [...] They face up to five years in prison," Dlubacz said.

According to him, the detainees are charged with offences under Articles 158 (assault) and 119 (violence motivated by national intolerance) of the Polish Criminal Code. Both offences carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

The prosecutor's spokesman also noted that the third person involved in the assault of the Ukrainian couple has not yet been detained.

"Police are currently working to apprehend him," the prosecutor added.

As reported, two men suspected of brutally assaulting Ukrainian nationals were detained in Wroclaw. One of them was attempting to leave the city but was detained by officers from a police counter-terrorism unit.

According to Polish media reports, the detainees are 27 and 45 years old. One has a criminal record, while the other is associated with a football hooligan group. Both take part in mixed martial arts tournaments.
