Naga Munchetty shares five-word response on BBC Breakfast departure
Naga Munchetty has delivered a five-word response on why she has decided to leave BBC Breakfast after 17 years.
Munchetty, who first joined the programme as a stand-in presenter in 2009, will be moving to BBC Radio 5 Live, where she will lead its flagship morning programme from January 2027.
Sharing the news on BBC Radio 5 Live on Tuesday (28 July), Munchetty said she is “very excited” to join the flagship show. “Change is as good as a rest,” she laughed.
Munchetty, who has presented the station’s weekday mid-morning programme since 2021, added: “Time for a new challenge.”
