The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), in collaboration with Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur, is conducting a two-day workshop on ‘Design Thinking in Higher Education for Vice-Chancellors of Andhra Pradesh’ on July 29 and 30 in Vijayawada. The event is being sponsored by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) 2.0.

The event aims to bring together Vice-Chancellors of 30 State universities and senior APSCHE officials, who will participate in collaborative group activities focused on institutional innovation and problem-solving.

Organised under the guidance of APSCHE Chairman K. Madhu Murthy, the programme aims to equip university leaders with globally recognised ‘Design Thinking’ methodologies to strengthen governance, teaching-learning, research, innovation, and student engagement. The sessions will be facilitated by Mohan Kancharla, an internationally certified Design Thinking expert.

The workshop will combine interactive learning with practical exercises covering the five stages of Design Thinking Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Through simulated institutional challenges, participants will develop innovative solutions for issues related to governance, quality enhancement, digital transformation, industry collaboration, research and student success.

Aligned with the vision of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the initiative seeks to build leadership capacity and promote innovation-driven governance across Andhra Pradesh’s higher education institutions. APSCHE expects the workshop to enable Vice-Chancellors to lead transformative reforms and contribute to the State’s vision of Swarnandhra and Viksit Bharat 2047, said a press release on Tuesday.
