Family vacations are all about making memories.

Some families come home with photos and souvenirs. Others come home with a hole in the back of their head. And by "others," I mean country star Tyler Hubbard.

The Florida Georgia Line singer found himself in a painful predicament during a recent four-day camping trip when a fish hook got lodged in his scalp, forcing his wife, Hayley, to perform some backwoods surgery.

"Breakfast had to wait…" Hubbard wrote alongside an Instagram video of the removal.

In the clip, Hayley inspects the hook while the couple’s three children offer encouragement from nearby.

"Wow, those little barbs really work," she said.

Hubbard never explained exactly how the hook ended up in his head, but he stayed impressively calm as Hayley worked to free it with a pair of pliers.

When one of the kids asked how badly it hurt, Hubbard admitted, "Kinda does."

OK, tough guy.

Hayley eventually pulled the hook loose, prompting a relieved, "Oh, we got it!"

Despite the unexpected medical procedure, the family appeared to enjoy the rest of the getaway, which included fishing, swimming, boating, rafting and a bald eagle sighting.

"We got 4 days off with @tylerhubbard in the middle of this crazy summer and decided to go camping in the airstream," Hayley wrote in a separate post. "All the memories made were worth the shlepping and loading up and unpacking and fun that comes along with camping. next time we’ll try to avoid fish hooks in the head."

That seems like a reasonable goal.
