A human skull was found on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) morning while workers cleared overgrown vegetation on a private property at Malamkulam near Manjeri, prompting a police investigation.

The workers alerted the police after finding the skull in a remote, steeply sloping area. Senior police officers inspected the site. A dog squad and fingerprint experts also examined the area and collected evidence.

The property belongs to a resident of Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam. The police said only a forensic examination could confirm its nature and determine how long it had been there. The surrounding area is being searched for additional remains. A case has been registered, and investigation is under way.
