Grab your baby tees, dust off your butterfly clips, and get ready for a trip to the mall because Gap is bringing back four of its most iconic 1990s fragrances.

The retailer’s revamped fragrance collection, launching Thursday in stores and online, features updated versions of the beloved scents Dream, Grass, Heaven and Om, along with a brand-new fragrance called Harmony.

Originally launched in 1994, Gap’s fragrances became the signature scent of ’90s cool, capturing the decade’s minimalist style, mall culture and effortless vibe. Fans formed a loyal following, and many were left heartbroken when the beloved scents disappeared from shelves in the early 2000s.

As one fan said on Instagram, “I have a 30-year-old bottle of Grass that I spray on special occasions and it hits me straight in the nostalgia each time I wear it.”

Now, the new collection is launching as eau de parfums, which contain a higher fragrance concentration than traditional body sprays. The scents can be worn on their own or layered together, allowing fans to personalize their signature scents.

For the reboot, Gap said it wanted to bring back the nostalgia of the original fragrances while giving them a fresh update for today’s shoppers. Award-winning perfumer Honorine Blanc, who worked on the original collection, teamed up with perfumer Nicole Mancini to refresh the scents with modern ingredients and updated fragrance techniques.

“Gap has always created products that become part of how people express who they are, and fragrance is a natural extension of that,” Mark Breitbard, CEO and President of Gap, said in a statement. “We’ve modernized Gap’s signature fragrances for the person who grew up with Gap and for those discovering it for the first time. It’s a deeply personal category and a powerful way for us to connect generations as we continue to evolve the brand,” Mark Breitbard, CEO and President of Gap.

Each fragrance has been refreshed with updated notes. Dream returns closest to its original formula, bringing back its warm, woody profile with fresh notes of Italian bergamot, jasmine and cedarwood.

Grass offers a clean, refreshing feel with green mandarin, matcha and Virginia cedar, while Heaven takes a softer, more sensual approach with warm amber, crisp pear, Madagascar vanilla and patchouli. Om delivers a deeper, more grounded scent experience featuring ginger, sandalwood and cedar.

The new addition, Harmony, brings a playful, uplifting twist with bright notes of apricot nectar, gardenia and amber, according to the company.

Full-size bottles will be priced at $20 for 10 ml and $52 for 50 ml. A five-piece sample set will also be available for $20.

Fans are excited - yet apprehensive - about the revamped classics.

“This 90’s Gap Girl is absolutely SEATED,” one commented on Gap’s Instagram post announcement.

“Ohthankgod (sic) I can stop buying expired Om off eBay,” another said.

One nervous shopper wrote, “Dear Gap, you don’t need to ‘reimagine’ the original scents. People love them for a reason. Please don’t change the scents and still call them by their original names. That would be so disappointing. Thank you.”

“Man, companies really are just pulling at millennials. They know if they bring anything back that is nostalgic, we’ll buy it,” another noticed.

“We wanted and waited so long for the originals to come back. Especially Grass. Why would you reformulate the scents?” a third skeptical shopper asked.
