The 2026 World Cup is over, but a new update for Apple Sports makes the app an even better place to follow soccer around the world. Here’s what’s new.
Apple Sports adds seven new soccer leagues around the world, plus formation details
Apple Sports was just updated to version 4.2, with the new version available now on the App Store.
This update focuses exclusively on serving soccer fans. The World Cup may be over, but there’s plenty of soccer ahead in the US and abroad.
Starting today, Apple Sports has added support for following seven additional leagues around the world. The full list includes:
- Belgian Pro League
- Danish Superliga
- Dutch Eredivisie
- Japanese J1 League
- Polish Ekstraklasa
- Scottish Premiership
- Swiss Super League
Additionally, soccer matches will now feature formations “across most soccer leagues.” Apple says this will make it easy to “visualize the starting lineup for each match.”
On a related note for soccer fans, Apple TV includes access to all Major League Soccer (MLS) matches for free, at no additional cost. And the new season just got started.
