Nadia Montenegro removes Sophia from Baron Geisler’s home amid his alleged relapse
Nadia Montenegro said she had already taken her daughter Sophia out of her father Baron Geisler’s home after learning that the actor’s family was going through personal problems.
Montenegro shared with select reporters at the Maddox Iconic Runway: Diamond Jewelry Fashion Show on Thursday, July 30, in Mandaluyong City that Sophia had been staying with Geisler for about a year before she decided to bring her back in February.
“For one year nandoon ‘yung anak ko sa kaniya, then ‘yun medyo namomoblema na sila, may mga problems na sila sa family. Syempre I pulled out my child, inalis ko ‘yung anak ko doon kasi ayoko naman maano rin, nag-aaral si Sophia. Mabuti nang maayos na muna nila mamaya nakakabigat din ‘yung anak ko, naiintindihan ko ‘yung mga ganon,” she said.

Montenegro’s remarks came after Geisler’s wife, Jamie Evangelista, sparked online speculation about the actor’s well-being when she appeared to urge him to seek “drug rehabilitation” in a now-deleted Instagram comment.
Screenshots of the comment circulated on social media, prompting speculation that the actor, who has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, may have relapsed. Geisler has yet to issue a statement addressing the matter.
Asked if she had been worried about Sophia amid reports of Geisler’s alleged relapse, Montenegro said she’s secured about the father-daughter relationship.
“Na-pull out ko na si Sophia February pa. Matagal na wala si Sophia sa kaniya. Pero ‘yung relationship nilang mag-ama, secure naman ako dun. Alam ko naman na hindi naman niya siguro i-dadamay ‘yung anak ko,” she said.

The actress added that she had reminded Geisler through text to keep their daughter away from his personal issues.
“‘Yun lang ang text ko sa kanya. I-ingatan mo si Sophia. Huwag mo i-damay jan sa gulo niyo. At huwag mo siyang gagamitin sa mga, kung anong-anong mga problema. So, very honest naman ako sa kanya, although hindi niya nga ako sinasagot,” she said.

Despite the current situation, Montenegro said she remains hopeful that Geisler will recover and get the help he needs.
“I wish him well. Ayoko lang madamay si Sophia. Nahuhurt din ‘yung bata kasi tatay niya ‘yon. Sana maayos nila. At kung ano mang help ang kailangan ni B, makuha niya because like what I’ve told him 26 years ago, ang ganda ng future niya, ang galing niyang artista,” she said.
Montenegro also said Sophia continues to have a good relationship with Geisler’s wife.
“They’re okay. Kahit naman kami ni Jamie, we’re okay. I mean, very civil. Respect begets respect. So, they give me respect, I give them respect. Ganun lang din naman. She takes care of Sophia also,” she said. /ra
