YSRCP State general secretary N. Lakshmi Parvathi on Friday criticised N. Bhuvaneswari, wife of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, for allegedly making misleading statements and attempting to gain public sympathy for political purposes during her recent visit to Kuppam.

Addressing the media at the party office in Tadepalli, Ms. Parvathi claimed that the YSRCP leaders had never made any derogatory remarks against Ms. Bhuvaneswari and that the Legislative Assembly records could be examined to verify the facts.

Accusing the Chief Minister and HRD Minister N. Lokesh of adopting falsehood as a political strategy, the YSRCP leader said that Ms. Bhuvaneswari’s image had been dented by members of her family rather than political opponents.

Describing herself as the legally wedded wife of former Chief Minister and TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao, she said she had endured years of personal attacks and defamatory campaigns. Ms. Parvathi also accused the TDP’s IT wing of circulating morphed images and offensive content targeting women leaders.

The YSRCP leader also alleged that crimes against women had increased under the coalition government, and questioned Ms. Bhuvaneswari’s “silence” on the issue. She further accused the government of failing to implement several election promises, including financial assistance schemes for women and distribution of free LPG cylinders.
