TACLOBAN CITY- Citing the need to conserve government funds amid the country’s energy crisis and rising cost of basic commodities, Northern Samar Rep. Niko Raul Daza has filed a bill seeking to postpone the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections scheduled in November 2026. Daza, through House Bill No. 10407, proposed moving the nationwide barangay and youth council elections to the first Monday of November 2028 while retaining the four-year term of incumbent barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials.
