Veteran showbiz columnist, talent manager Jobert Sucaldito dies at 65

Veteran entertainment columnist, radio commentator, and talent manager Jobert Sucaldito has died. He was 65.

Sucaldito’s passing was confirmed on Sunday, August 2, through the Facebook page of his podcast program O.O.T.D. (O.O.T.D. Jobert and Chaps Channel), which he hosted with filmmaker Chaps Manansala.

“With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of our dear host, our beloved Nanay, Tatay, and Tito, Jobert Sucaldito,” the post read.

According to the announcement, Sucaldito was brought to the Philippine Heart Center, where medical personnel attempted to revive him.

“The family is still awaiting the official medical findings regarding the cause of his passing. We kindly ask everyone to offer prayers for the eternal repose of Tito Jobert’s soul and to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time,” continued the statement.

The post added that further details regarding Sucaldito wake and funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they become available.

Manansala also took to his Facebook page to mourn the passing of his co-host.

“Hindi ko alam what am feeling now… calls and messages are overflowing.. sorry kinocompose ko pa sarili ko… Ang sakit na sabihin na wala na po si Nanay Sucaldito Jobert… We will update you.. right now I have to wait for the hospital’s advise DOA @philippineheartcenter,” read the post.

Sucaldito, known for his decades-long career as a fiesty showbiz columnist and radio commentator, became a familiar voice to audiences through his work in entertainment programs, including his stint at DZMM. He also served as a columnist for Tabloid Bandera.

Sucaldito also worked as a talent manager and ventured into film, with credits in projects such as “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story,” “Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako,” and “Silab.” /edv
