Serious injury in Auckland shooting, man in hospital

Police are investigating a shooting in the Auckland suburb of Hillcrest on Sunday night.

Acting Detective Inspector Megan Goldie of Waitematā CIB said a man was in hospital with a serious injury.

Goldie said police were called about 11.45pm on Sunday after a man arrived at a North Shore hospital with an unexplained gunshot wound.

Enquiries were taking place to determine what happened, she said.
