SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group Red Velvet will make a full-group comeback Monday with a new EP, ending a more than two-year wait for fans since its last release.

SM Entertainment, the group's agency, said the five-member act will drop "Velvet Summer" at 6 p.m., featuring the lead track "Surfin' Boy," a dance song described as having "cool yet dreamy" vocal harmonies.

The group's last full-group release was the EP "Cosmic," released in June 2024. The members have since focused on solo activities in music, acting and other projects.

In statements released ahead of the launch, leader Irene thanked the group's fandom, known as "ReVeluv" for its patience.

"We're so grateful to our ReVeluvs for waiting more than two years," she said. "It feels great to be back together -- the lively practice room and everything is just wonderful."
