Actor Shabana Azmi reportedly felt unwell during the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Monday. A video from the protest site showed the 75-year-old actor being assisted by volunteers and security personnel and taken to a security cabin after she appeared to feel dizzy amid the gathering.

In the video, shared by the Instagram page The Tubelight, Azmi was seen being helped through the crowd and escorted to a place where she could rest. Volunteers were also seen fanning her as she sat inside the cabin.

Azmi had joined thousands of protesters at Jantar Mantar earlier in the day in support of the CJP's student-led movement. She had been sharing updates from the protest site on social media, including a video of herself travelling in a truck with actor Prakash Raj and another of her making her way through the crowd with the help of fellow protesters.

According to reports from the protest site, Azmi began feeling unwell amid the gathering, following which volunteers and security personnel took her to a security cabin so she could rest and receive assistance.

Earlier in the day, Azmi shared a photograph of herself travelling in a truck with Prakash Raj during the protest march. In the caption, she referred to the government's decision to hold talks with CJP leaders.

"In the truck. The government has finally agreed to have a dialogue. It is a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar for educational reforms," she wrote.

In another video, Azmi could be seen crossing a barricade with the help of fellow protesters. "I have reached here. Seeing the energy and so many people here gives you courage," she said in the clip.

Speaking to PTI Videos during the march, Azmi said the protesters had no intention of resorting to violence.

"We are here to hold a peaceful protest. This is a right guaranteed by our Constitution. Mahatma Gandhi taught us the path of non-violence. We have no intention of resorting to violence," she said.

When asked about the absence of more Bollywood celebrities from the movement, Azmi said the focus should remain on the issues raised by the protesters.

Azmi's participation in the CJP protest and her comments on peaceful demonstration came as thousands gathered at Jantar Mantar on Monday. Several celebrities from the film fraternity, including Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi and Sutapa Sikdar, too, backed the support.
