An intelligence-led operation in Meath and Louth has led to €8.5 million worth of drugs being seized.

The cocaine and cannabis were discovered when gardaí stopped a vehicle on Monday, with a number of locations then being searched.

Two men in their 30s and 40s are being questioned at a garda station in the Eastern Region.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
