An urgent search is underway for a 6-year-old boy missing in near-freezing conditions in South Auckland.

Multiple search and rescue teams are searching on foot for Malakai around Druces Rd and Wiri Station Rd in Wiri. He was last seen about 6pm on Tuesday.
