Last year’s bronze medal winning pair of R. Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty will be the highest seeded Indians in the fray at the upcoming BWF World Championships at the Indira Gandhi Stadium here from August 17 to 23.

The Indians, ranked fifth in the World, are the only Indians besides P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal to win multiple medals in the competition.

Five-time medallist Sindhu, ninth in the world and with a mixed bag so far this year including a maiden Japan Open title, has been seeded ninth. Former World Championships bronze medallist Lakshya Sen is seeded 14th while the mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto is seeded 15th.

Defending champion Shi Yuqi of China and South Korea’s An Se Young, meanwhile, will be the top seeds in the men’s and women’s singles respectively.
