Lindsay Lohan is once again a redhead — much to the delight of her fans.
In a series of Instagram photos shared Tuesday, the 40-year-old Mean Girls star is seen sporting an ear-to-ear grin with her long red locks on full display. The tousled waves compliment her natural makeup and stand out against her blue-and-white robe.
Most recently a blonde, Lohan became known for her red hair as she rose to fame in films including The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.
Fans gushed over Lohan’s return to her signature red locks.
“Redhead Lindsay is the best Lindsay,” one fan commented while another said, “the most iconic redhead in pop culture.”
“I love how you can rock every haircolor , but I feel red is the most Iconic,” another wrote as someone else agreed, “Love that hair color! You look gorgeous with any color but your natural color is amazing!”
“SHES RED AGAIN! The most famous red head IN THE WORLD!!!” someone else chimed in while another fan wrote, “Hands down the most iconic redhead!”
Lohan also shared a behind-the-scenes look at her recent ad with Reese’s, in which she’s sporting blonde hair in some scenes and red in others, playing twins in a seeming nod to her Parent Trap days.
In the film, twins Annie and Hallie (both played by Lohan) bond over loving Oreo cookies with peanut butter. So it was only right, then, that Lohan was the face of a recent ad announcing an Oreo and Reese’s Peanut Butter collaboration.
The ad features Amy Sedaris and her twin turn up at Lohan’s “Reese’s Twins Retreat” camp.
“Welcome to my wellness retreat, where I help twins work out their differences,” a blonde Lohan began before panning to the camera, “Because, well — I know a thing or two about twins.”
Lohan recently reflected on The Parent Trap, telling Parade, “It means so much. It was, you know, my first movie audition, my first film, and it holds such an important place in my heart.
“It’s just such a lovely family movie, and Nancy Meyers has such a beautiful way of doing that in her films. And people just really connect to it. It’s so funny; still today, young kids now notice me from that, which is just wild that people still love it so much. And to be a part of something like that is really special.”
When asked which twin she identified with more, Lohan said, “I think always a bit of both, because I’m super feminine, but I’m also a little tomboy. So, I think I was both. Long hair, I like long hair better, but when I was young, I wanted the Jennifer Aniston haircut, so I was Hallie in that sense. But a little bit of both.”
