A few months after extending the weekly public grievance redressal mechanism Prajavani to Revenue Division level, Telangana government announced to operationalize it at Mandal Level as the next phase of decentralized implementation. It would be conducted on every Monday from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at Mandal Parishad Office.

Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) will be the Nodal Officer. All officers at the mandal-level of the respective departments and other relevant officers would attend the programme to hear grievances, receive petitions and initiate action, as per a government order issued on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).

Resources at venue

The venue of the grievance redressal programme should have sufficient seating, drinking water facility, health desk, washrooms, wheelchairs, helpdesk for drafting grievances and know status of earlier grievances.

Officials were directed to give priority to persons with disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant and women with infants, and others.

The State government launched Prajavani in December 2023, for speedy redressal of grievances. It is held at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Begumpet on every Tuesday and Friday. A similar mechanism is implemented at districts with Collectors holding the programme on Mondays. The Prajavani at Revenue divisions is being held from May 4, 2026. It is also held at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).

A unified portal for Prajavani was developed and operationalized for registration, processing, monitoring and review of grievances received at the State, District and Revenue Division levels. The grievances received at Mandal level too would be registered and processed through the unified portal.

Meanwhile, G. Chinna Reddy, Prajavani in-charge and Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, said that there is no necessity to conduct the Prajavani public grievance redressal mechanism at the level of the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). Expressing his personal view, he suggested that Prajavani be conducted only at the Mandal, District, and State levels.

Mr. Reddy said that in most places, RDO offices are located within or in close proximity to District Collectorate premises — where the programme is conducted. Prajavani at RDO level would create an “unnecessary intermediate layer” between the Mandal and District-level programmes without offering any significant administrative benefit.
