The Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office announced the verdict, according to Ukrinform.

"Based on the public prosecution by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 21-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia was found guilty of intentional destruction of property by arson, preparing an act of sabotage under martial law committed by a group acting in prior conspiracy, and attempted premeditated murder committed for financial gain under a contract. […] The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of all his property," the statement said.

Prosecutors proved in court that the man, seeking easy money, accepted an offer from an unknown individual via a messaging app and began carrying out assignments in exchange for payment.

According to investigators, in November 2025, he set fire to a Ford Focus. The following month, he prepared to sabotage railway infrastructure by planning to set a diesel locomotive on fire at a major rail classification yard. However, he was unable to carry out the plan because no locomotive was present at the site.

In January 2026, the man accepted another assignment – to kill a Ukrainian serviceman. After receiving information about the intended victim, along with instructions on the location, timing, and method of the attack, he went to an apartment building, waited for the serviceman outside the entrance, and stabbed him multiple times. The suspect failed to complete the murder because the victim fought back and called for help. The wounded serviceman was hospitalized with serious injuries.
