TUNIS, August 6. /TASS/. At least 45 Yemeni government troops have been killed in attacks conducted by Houthi rebels from the Ansar Allah movement on army positions in the Marib and Hadhramaut governorates, the Al Hadath TV channel reported, citing military sources.

According to it, the rebels targeted two military camps – one in the Marib governorate, which remains the main stronghold of the internationally recognized government in the country’s northeast, and another in the eastern governorate of Hadhramaut. The exact timing of the attacks has not been specified. On Wednesday, the Houthis attempted a large-scale offensive on government positions in the southern part of the Hodeidah governorate in western Yemen.

The conflict in Yemen between government forces and Houthi rebels has been ongoing since August 2014. Although large-scale hostilities in the country have stopped following a ceasefire agreement signed under the auspices of the UN in 2022, local clashes still occur in some regions.
