Trump crowd members boo Vegas cop with foreign-sounding name killed in line of duty
Crowd members at a Donald Trump rally booed a Las Vegas police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Austin Abdelnabi, also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, was shot and killed while responding to a call about an armed suspect on Tuesday (4 August).
Before the US president took the stage in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday (5 August), Gov. Joe Lombardo began asking the audience to hold a moment of silence for Abdelnabi, whose last name he stumbled over.
Several audience members can then be heard jeering upon hearing Abdelnabi’s name, with Gov. Lombardo quickly reprimanding them.
“No. We're not booing him. He's the officer that passed away here recently,” he said.
