An East Coast trucking and delivery company in court liquidation reportedly owes more than half a million dollars to the Inland Revenue Department.

Naati Haulage, a Rangitukia-based delivery and transport vehicle scheduling service, was placed into liquidation by order of the High Court at Gisborne on July 3, following anapplication from the Commissioner of Inland Revenue.

The Insolvency and Trustee Service – the Official Assignee’s Office under the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) – was appointed as liquidator.

The cause of the liquidation, as described in the first liquidator’s report released this week, “appears to be related to a failure to account for taxation”.

The liquidator wrote that it was establishing communication with the director to obtain the company’s financial statements and a Statement of Affairs, and conducting searches and investigations to locate any assets of interest.

Alliot Tutakiwa Rewi is listed as the company’s sole director and shareholder. Rewi is listed as owner of three companies.

HT Kontracting Ltd was removed from the Companies Office register in 2025.

One of his companies, Ruatōria-based Shed Tread 35 Ltd, is still registered. However, public notice has been given that the Registrar of Companies had initiated action to remove the company from the register.

Naati Haulage began trading on February 25, 2019 and ceased trading in May 2025. In May 2023, the company received a $40,000 Business Support grant from Trust Tairāwhiti after Cyclone Gabrielle.

Three bank accounts, five vehicles and two trailers were listed as assets.
