Throughout 2026, Michael Jackson’s music has been performing spectacularly on charts around the world. He was already present on multiple albums tallies in places including the United Kingdom and the United States before his biopic arrived, but in the weeks leading up to Michael hitting theaters — and certainly in the months since the $1 billion film made history — consumption of the late superstar’s catalog rose dramatically and has remained high.

These days, it is not unusual for half a dozen collections by Jackson to chart together, and on both sides of the Atlantic, he regularly appears at No. 1 on at least one list. In the U.K. this frame, Jackson conquers multiple tallies with several different albums – an incredible feat for an artist who has been gone as long as he has.

Michael Jackson Leads Different Charts With Two Albums

Both The Essential and Michael – officially titled Michael - Songs From The Motion Picture – lead different rankings in the U.K. this week. Impressively, both collections have now dominated the rosters where they sit at No. 1 for double-digit numbers of frames.

Michael Jackson’s The Essential Reaches 10 Weeks at No. 1

The Essential holds at No. 1 on the Official Albums Streaming chart, the U.K.’s ranking of the most-played projects of any style and any length on websites and apps like Spotify, Apple Music and others. The compilation has now spent a milestone 10 turns in first place.

The Essential first reached the peak position in mid-May after already spending quite a few frames inside the top 10. Since then, it has never fallen beneath No. 2, and it has landed in the runner-up rung only three times.

Michael Jackson Returns to No. 1 with a Soundtrack

Michael also dominates the Official Soundtrack Albums chart at the moment. The collection – which features many of Jackson’s most famous singles – returns to the summit after falling to a new low of No. 3 just last time around.

The soundtrack attached to the biopic of the same name debuted on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart at No. 1 in early May. It has now spent 14 weeks on the tally, and only three of those stints have been outside the penthouse.

Michael Jackson Holds at No. 2 with The Essential

The Essential appears on only two charts in the U.K. this week, and it is a top two success on both of them. In addition to ruling the Official Albums Streaming ranking, the compilation holds steady at No. 2 on the Official Albums tally.

Michael Jackson’s Michael Charts on a Trio of Tallies

Michael lives on three rankings in the U.K. this week. While it returns to No. 1 on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart, it falls on both of the sales-focused tallies where it is present. The soundtrack slips from No. 68 on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales lists, dipping to Nos. 70 and 77, respectively.

Michael Jackson Charts Half a Dozen Albums in the U.K.

Half a dozen albums by Jackson appear on U.K. charts this week, and most of them are present on more rankings than either The Essential or Michael. It is a mixed bag for the superstar’s catalog, with some titles rising while others decline.

Number Ones is the only one of Jackson’s collections to return to a ranking this period. The compilation becomes a vinyl bestseller once more as it reenters the Official Vinyl Albums chart at No. 32.
