Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"An enemy strike has been recorded in the Saltivskyi district. According to preliminary information, which is still being verified, the enemy hit an apartment building," he said.

Terekhov later added that a strike on a residential building had been confirmed, with floors seven through ten destroyed.

"There is information about casualties – their number and condition are being clarified," he said.

Later, another strike was reported in the Saltivskyi district.

"The enemy hit a neighboring high-rise building – deliberately targeting residential buildings. Stay safe and move to a shelter. We are determining the details of the consequences of the second strike," Terekhov wrote.

According to him, people were trapped inside the building, and a rescue operation had begun at the scene.

Meanwhile, Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that one person had been killed at the site of the strikes.

"According to preliminary information, one person was killed in the Saltivskyi district. We are determining the number of those injured. Emergency medical crews are working despite the ongoing threat of shelling," he said.

The regional governor later specified that information had been received about a second person killed in the Saltivskyi district as a result of an enemy drone strike. Another person, he said, was hospitalized with severe injuries.

Earlier reports said that a jet-powered drone struck a residential area in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district.
