A man has been arrested after allegedly breaching a restricted area of Auckland Airport.

Counties Manukau District Operations Manager Inspector Wati Chaplow said aviation security staff alerted police to the incident about 9.40am.

The 42-year-old was arrested and now faces charges for endangering transport, wilful damage and dangerous driving.

He will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow.
