Flagship Minerals has completed the sale of its wholly owned Reung Kiet (RK) lithium project in southern Thailand, confirming it has received the full US$4 million (A$5.7M) cash consideration for the transaction.
The payment marks the successful conclusion of a deal announced in late June and represents another milestone in Flagship’s strategic reshaping from a diversified explorer into a gold and copper developer.
Flagship Minerals’ Isidora project in Chile’s Atacama region hosts an estimated 2.1-million-ounce gold resource.
The RK package includes the RK, BT and KT lithium prospects, which were sold to a Thai syndicate led by privately held Pendulum Auto Co. Ltd under a binding sale and purchase agreement.
With the cash in hand, Flagship is turning its attention to advancing its flagship Isidora gold project in Chile, where the company recently outlined a 2.1-million-ounce gold resource. The project sits in the country’s mineral-rich Atacama region and forms the centrepiece of Flagship’s future growth plans.
‘Flagship also plans a follow-on sale of its 100% owned Khao Soon Tungsten Project in Thailand.’

In parallel, management is reviewing options for its recently acquired Whipsaw copper project, 160 kilometres east of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, including a potential spin-out and separate ASX listing, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
The large-scale project hosts an exploration target ranging from 510 million tonnes to 1.02 billion tonnes grading between 0.2 and 0.4 per cent copper equivalent, incorporating copper, molybdenum, silver and gold credits.
The target extends across a mineralised system stretching more than 3.7 kilometres in strike and up to 1.2 kilometres wide, highlighting the project’s potential scale.
Flagship Minerals managing director Paul Lock said: “Flagship will focus on progressing its 2.1Moz Isidora Gold Project in Chile to feasibility. Flagship is also reviewing the Whipsaw Copper Project in Canada for a potential spin-out via an ASX listing.”
Flagship’s portfolio rationalisation may not be over yet. The company says discussions remain underway regarding a potential sale of its Khao Soon tungsten project in Thailand, one of the largest undeveloped tungsten projects in Southeast Asia.
Should that deal proceed, Flagship would complete its transition away from lithium and tungsten and emerge as a dedicated gold and copper company, with fresh capital available to support development studies at Isidora and further value creation opportunities across its copper assets.
For keen market watchers, the latest payment completes a key step in the company’s transition to greener pastures and provides immediate funding flexibility as Flagship presses ahead with plans to unlock value from its growing gold and copper portfolio.
With the final transaction payment in the kitty and further asset sale discussions continuing, Flagship appears to be moving quickly along its commodity reset path.
The punters will likely now be watching closely to see whether Flagship’s Khao Soon tungsten project sale proceeds and how rapidly the company can convert its significant gold and copper assets into their next stages of growth.
