SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Chinese actress Tang Wei has given birth to her second son, her agency said Thursday, a day after the star announced the news herself on social media.

A representative for the 47-year-old actress told Yonhap News Agency that Tang Wei had recently delivered a son, but did not disclose further details, including the exact timing of the birth.

Tang, who is married to South Korean film director Kim Tae-yong, shared the news on her social media account on Wednesday, posting a photo of the family's hands clasped together.

"Summer said, 'A family of four's journey begins with foal,'" Tang wrote, referring to her first daughter and the baby's nickname.

Tang married Kim in 2014 after the pair worked together on the 2009 Korean film "Late Autumn." They welcomed their first daughter in 2016.
