  • A new leak has extensively detailed Valve’s upcoming gaming-oriented Steam Frame VR headset.
  • Among the leaked Valve assets are videos showing the device unboxing, the Ergonomic Accessories Kit, and other tutorials.
  • The company previously said the VR headset will launch this summer, but hasn’t offered a specific timeframe.

It’s been a long wait for the Steam Frame VR gaming headset following its announcement late last year. Valve finally gave us a summer launch timeline for this eagerly anticipated device in June, but we haven’t heard much since then. That’s changing now, as a slip-up has revealed more than half a dozen tutorial videos of the upcoming VR headset and its accessories.

X account Steam Hardware Updates highlights eight videos, including an extensive unboxing video that leaves nothing to the imagination. These videos reportedly come from the ARM-based Steam client. Although Valve has since removed them from its platform, it wasn’t quick enough to avoid the public noticing.

Additionally, we’re getting a closer glimpse of the Steam Frame’s IPD (Interpupillary Distance) wheel, which lets you adjust the space between the two lenses. The IPD wheel has a switch-based lock mechanism that retains the spacing for future use.

Other videos published as part of this leak include a demo of the Steam Frame wireless adapter, a fit guide, and a sign-in tutorial, pretty much covering all the bases. This extensive leak suggests that the VR headset’s launch may not be far away. Valve mentioned a summertime release back in June, and with not much longer left until the end of summer, we hope we get our answers about both a release date and pricing details soon.
