PARIS, August 21. /TASS/. Leaders of several countries participating in the so-called Coalition of the Willing will hold talks on Monday to discuss further support for Ukraine, AFP reported, citing the Elysee Palace press service.

According to the news agency, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham will co-chair the meeting. The event will be held in a "hybrid" format, with some leaders, including Macron himself, joining the discussions by video conference. European Council President Antonio Costa will also travel to Kiev to attend the meeting, according to the news agency.

The previous leaders’ meeting of the so-called Coalition of the Willing was held in Paris on July 13. Participants issued a declaration following the meeting. It stated their intention to form multinational military forces that could be deployed to Ukraine after the conflict ends, as well as their readiness to continue long-term support for the Ukrainian forces, including by supplying weapons and military equipment. The exact size of the proposed military contingent to be deployed in Ukraine was not specified. Macron also said that troops from coalition countries would conduct exercises in countries neighboring Ukraine in the coming months.
