Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi’s next with director Bobby Kolli has been titled Kaaka. The movie is bankrolled by KVN Productions, the banner behind Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring YashJana Nayagan.

On Chiranjeevi’s 71st birthday, the makers released a title glimpse. Director Bobby Kolli reunites with Chiranjeevi after their hit 2023 movie Waltair Veerayya.

In the glimpse, Chiranjeevi is seen playing an ordinary working-class man, leading a quiet life. Essaying a character called Supervisor Satyam, working at Ammaji Aqua Industries, the actor is surrounded by prawns, fish, and the everyday bustle of the aquaculture business.

The video then reveals the dangerous side of Satyam. The slice-of-life proceedings turn into gunfire, and action. The makers had earlier teased an action-oriented glimpse, promising Chiranjeevi’s trademark strong screen presence.

The film is touted to have a strong father-daughter emotional bond angle. Malayalam actor Anaswara Rajan plays Chiranjeevi’s daughter, while Nivetha Pethuraj has an important role.

S Thaman is the music composer, while Vijay Karthik Kannan of Jailer fame is the cinematographer. Antony L Ruben is the editor, and Kolla Avinash is the art director.

Currently being shot in Hyderabad, Kaaka is targeting a Sankranti 2027 release. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 13, 2027. positioning it as one of the major Telugu releases for the festival season.
